Home Insurance

Home insurance (or homeowner's insurance) covers many of the different accidents and damage that can happen to a home. Insurance coverage can include the building, it's contents, loss of use, and/or liability coverage for accents that may happen at the home.

Even though home insurance is not required by law, most people must have insurance policies to meet the requirements of their mortgage. The most typical policies cover all risks, while excluding some perils such as flood and earthquake. Coverage it typically split into 5 classifications: dwelling, other structures, personal property, loss of use, and additional coverage.

There are also insurance policies available to non home owners, such as renters and condominium. These provide similar coverage to home owners policies, but only cover the areas applicable to these individuals. Also some older homes may not be eligible for traditional insurance policies.
